Privacy Policy

Effective April 1, 2026

1. What We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile picture. When you use the app, we store the team and player data you create — including roster information, game stats, pitch counts, and player evaluations. We do not collect payment information directly; payments are handled by Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate and improve Dugout. This includes: displaying your team and player data, computing lineup and stat analytics, and sending transactional communications (e.g., support replies). We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database operated by Google. Firebase is subject to Google's own privacy and security practices. Data is stored in the United States.

4. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their commercial purposes. We may share data with service providers (such as Google Firebase and Stripe) who help us operate the app under appropriate confidentiality agreements. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Player Data and Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Dugout accounts are created and managed by adult coaches. Coaches may enter information about players who are under 13 years of age. Dugout does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Coaches are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority — such as parental consent or a team authorization — to enter player data into the app. If you believe data about a child has been entered without authorization, contact us at team@dugoutbaseball.app and we will remove it promptly.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data and team data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase's built-in authentication and Firestore security rules that restrict data access to authorized coaches only. No system is perfectly secure — use a strong Google account password and enable two-factor authentication on your Google account.

8. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data at any time from within the app settings, or by contacting us. If you are a resident of California or the EU, you may have additional rights under CCPA or GDPR respectively — contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
